Hello and welcome to my template instructions page. I have added lots of pictures to help ya out =) if you need help with anything email me anytime!

All you need is a program to open your .txt file such as notepad.

Here is a little guide before you start editing for those who have never worked with html

Opening your .txt file

1. To get started download the .txt file from the email, just right click it and save it to your desktop or somewhere easy to locate. Now open it in notepad

2. Now all you need to do now is fill in the blanks and add your own photos and you will be done in no time. Look for the helpful START and STOP comments (Dont worry they do not appear in your template they are only there to guide you on what to edit) Scroll down to the image section if you need help with putting up your images.

3. To preview your template copy your whole code (go to edit>select all and again edit>copy) then paste your code into the textarea below and click 'test the code'. (it might look smooshed in some browsers, just use the scrollers to look around)

Saving your file

4. Now that you finished your template you may want to save in case ebay or your computer freezes before you get to put it up. (Make sure to save as .txt)

PUTTING UP YOUR LISTING

5. This is the last step and it's pretty easy. When you go to sell your item you will get the keep it simple or customize option be sure to check CUSTOMIZE.

Now in your 'Create your listing' page Just copy your final template and paste it into ebay's description lister MAKE SURE YOU HIT THE HTML TAB NOT THE STANDARD.

You are all done now ;) hope that wasn't too confusing! the next section is for those who need help with photos and for other helpful html tags.

notes: Once you have your photos resized and ready to put on your ebay template make sure they are in either jpg or gif format.

- If you have your own file host make sure they allow hotlinking (linking off your own webpage) if not they will appear broken when you try to place them on ebay.

Basics and How to Upload:

I recommend using photobucket since they allow unlimited photos and lots of bandwidth and its free.

1. Locate your 'my album' tab after you register. Now click the browse button and locate your picture file. Click the +add more link if you have alot of images, once your files are ready just hit upload.

2. Now all you need to do is locate your image url. This is easy just click the 'direct link' box under the photo you would like to use, photobucket will copy the url for you. (image url's always begin with http:// and will end in either .gif, .jpg or .png)

Now we just need to put the image url inside our image tags located in our template. I have provided a few for you but here is an extra one, you can add them almost anywhere on your template.

Centering, Spacing, and Thumbnails

Centering I usually add the center tags to your templates however if you'd like to add extra image tags somewhere else in your template all you would do is add a center opening and closing tag around your image.

Spacing Sometimes your images will appear side by side to fix this all you would need to do is add a spacer tag (one br tag will fix this but 2 will add a space between them, you can use the br tags for text as well)

Thumbnails If you would like to use a thumbnail or small photo and link to a larger one here is the code. You will add your larger image to the a href side of the code and the smaller photo to the img src. You can also link your larger image to a webpage which will usually end in .html or .htm

Thumbnail Borders If you are linking your thumbnail photo and would like to get rid of your border all you would do is change the border size to zero.

Other helpful tags

note: If you would like to change the colors for some of the codes below, heres a link to a helpful color page to choose a different color.

dividers- edit the width and color to match your template.

Lists/Bullets- Heres a helpful code, use lists in your templates to describe item specs or whatever else! If you need more items just copy and paste the li tags.

  • list item 1
  • list item 2
  • list item 3
  • list item 4

Colored text link- I usually customize all your links however if you feel like adding some yourself here is a simple code. Just pick your color and edit.
